Chief Accountant
Description
We are looking to hire a competent and experienced candidate for the position of Chief Accountant. The details of the role are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of financial report to Management for regular decision making
- Oversee the preparation of management accounts
- Review of account reconciliation, account receivable, and account payable
- Oversee the verification of all invoices, petty cash, and payment vouchers
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures
- Analyze and review budgets and expenditures
- Maintain the cost accounting system of the company
- Preparation of weekly/monthly revenue and expenditures
- Monitor and review accounting related system reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with accounts officers of respective Company’s bankers, tax authorities, and external auditors
- Oversee cheque lodgment, and monitor bank balance/statements
KPI:
- Accurate records of the company’s financial transactions
- Costs savings for the company through prudent use of financial resources
- Excellent service delivery by external auditors, bankers, and tax consultants
- Timely submission of financial reports
- Effective supervision of subordinates
Qualifications
- First degree or equivalent plus professional qualification of ACA or ACCA. MBA/M.Sc. especially in finance will be a definite advantage
- Proficiency in the use of MS office tools (Word, Excel and Access) and ability to use accounting software
- Minimum of 10 years experience in similar role, five of which must have been at management level
- Good analytical and technical skills
